For a century, LUMIÈRE has cut crystal by hand in the Bohemian tradition — optical-grade K9 glass, 24% lead crystal, prisms that catch every hour of daylight. Every object is signed by the master who finished it. Designed in Prague, finished in Karlovy Vary, exhibited in 28 boutiques from Paris to Tokyo.
From the obelisk that catches the morning sun to the perfume bottle that holds the evening — every LUMIÈRE object is cut from a single block of K9 crystal by one master, finished in 8 to 32 hours of hand work.

From a 14-pound block of optical K9 to a signed, polished object — each piece passes through eight pairs of hands, each step adding one to thirty-two hours of work. A single obelisk takes two weeks.
Optical-grade K9 ingot, annealed for 90 days to remove internal stress. Only the clearest 30% survives.
The rough form is scored with a diamond point and split along the crystal's natural plane.
Iron-bonded diamond wheel brings the piece within 2mm of final dimensions.
24 facets are cut one by one, each at a measured angle, on a copper wheel charged with carborundum.
Wooden wheel with fine pumice brings the surface to optical clarity. Every facet is checked against the lamp.
The piece is held against black velvet under a single lamp. The master looks for bubbles, chips, or asymmetry.
If commissioned, an engraver cuts the maison mark, edition number, or a private monogram in intaglio.
The master cutter's etched signature and edition number (e.g. 04 / 250) are added by hand. The piece is boxed in black velvet.
A LUMIÈRE object never looks the same twice. Placed where the morning enters, it sparks white. In a south window at noon it throws prismatic rain. At sunset it glows amber. By candlelight, it flickers like a held breath.
Every LUMIÈRE object carries the name of the master who finished it. Four lead the Karlovy Vary atelier today.

The Karlovy Vary atelier opens its doors twice a year for collectors. 18 private viewings, 6 hours, four masters. Bookings open in March.
