The Pro Series is our best-selling freshwater spinning reel for one reason: it doesn't quit. We've sold 47,000 units in 4 years, and our return rate is 1.2% — most of those for cosmetic scratches from shipping, not mechanical failure.

The body is a single piece of MagSealed carbon — lighter and stronger than aluminum, and completely sealed against salt and grit. The 10+1 bearing system uses stainless steel throughout, with a sealed MagSealed pinion gear to keep water out of the critical drive path.

The drag is a stack of carbon fiber washers rated to 22 lb of max pressure — enough to stop a 30" striper without the drag fading. The retrieve is 6.2:1, which means 35 inches of line per turn of the handle. Fast enough for burning a spinnerbait, slow enough for a slow-roll on a deep crank.

◆ Setup

Spool it up. Tighten the drag.
You're ready.

Step 1: Spool line. Open the bail, run 200 yards of 10-15lb mono or 30-50lb braid directly onto the spool. Keep light tension (a pencil through the spool works).

Step 2: Tie on. Use a Palomar knot for braid, an improved clinch for mono. Wet the knot before tightening.

Step 3: Set the drag. Pull line at 45° with your hand. It should give way at 25-30% of your line's rated strength. For 10lb mono, that's about 3 lb of pull — about the weight of a coffee mug.

Step 4: Cast. Flip the bail, hold the line against the rod with your index finger, bring the rod back over your shoulder, then snap forward and release at ~2 o'clock for a sidearm cast, or 10 o'clock for an overhead cast.

5-year warranty. We warranty the body, rotor, gears, and main shaft against defects in materials or workmanship. If anything fails under normal use in the first 5 years, we repair or replace at no cost — you cover shipping to us, we cover return shipping.

Lifetime service. After the warranty period, our in-house service team will service your reel for the rest of its life for the cost of parts only. Typical service: $35-65. We've serviced reels from customers who bought their first Pro Series in 2008.

No-questions returns. If you don't like the reel for any reason in the first 30 days, send it back. We refund 100%, no restocking fee.
